The scientific journal QU3 – iQuaderni di UrbanisticaTre is looking for a photographic project to complement its issue edited by Michele Cerruti But, Agim Kërçuku,Cristiana Mattioli, Giulia Setti, Ianira Vassallo.
Firms as an urban dispositive
1. Subject of the Photographic project:
We are looking for photo contributions that could meaningfully answer the core theme of this issue moving from the following abstract.
We kindly promote both photographic projects and their related abstracts focused on the actual condition of workers, on the description of the productive spaces and systems and also on the social and individual implications of the contemporary production.
Within our investigation it is possible to find clues suggesting different narratives: the firmswe study help to redefine the concept of well-being and welfare, cope with environmental and social issues of sustainability, open new prospects regarding social representation and participation.
Firms look like a place of experimentation capable of leading a different idea of city and territory: in fact they close their ties with the territories, infrastructures, communities and local economies and they define new work spaces as well. Unexpectedly, firms today still remain both a social and spatial concept, an “urban dispositive”able to describe, prefigure and lead the future transformations of the city.
The images should be representative of the focused topic, exploring the embodied relation between production/territoryand could be seen as an atlas of images either an archive of contemporary memories aiming at studying the ways firms change territory today. Inclusive metaphors describe some specific firms features as the outline of a possible “new urban imaginary”.
